The old wolf and his sister decided to migrate to another place. At this time, a raven and a mountain ram came to woo his sister.
- We've come! - the wolf said to the guests.
- Yeah! - both grooms answered.
- Fine. I'm going to wander, so you help me.
They arrived at a new place. They set up a yaranga. The wolf says: “Go, raven, to the tundra, bring some firewood, and we’ll drink tea.”
The raven brought one twig, left it at the entrance, and went into the canopy.
— Did you bring firewood? - asked the wolf.
“I brought it and put it at the entrance.” The wolf went and looked - there was no firewood!
-Where is your firewood?
A raven came out and pointed to the twig he had brought.
“You brought very little wood, you won’t be able to light a fire.”
- Enough to make tea! - said the raven and went into the canopy.
- Who else will go for firewood? - asks the wolf.
“I’m going for firewood,” said the mountain sheep. The ram brought a lot of dry firewood. And the wolf said:
- Here is good firewood, and there is a lot of it.
— I also had a lot of firewood! - said the raven. They began to make tea, and the raven went to bed.
- When the tea boils, wake me up! - he ordered. So the tea was brewed, the wolf and the ram sat down and drank it all.
The raven woke up and asked:
— Is the tea brewed?
- Yes.
- Well, let's drink tea!
- We've already finished!
- Why didn’t you wake me up? I told you, we didn’t hear.
The next morning the wolf said:
-Who wants to marry my sister?
- I! - the raven shouted.
- No, you don’t work well, she’ll die of hunger!
“I would like to take my wife!” said the mountain ram.
- Take it, you are doing a good job! - said the wolf and gave his sister to the mountain ram.
The raven cried and flew away into the tundra.
