A wolf and a fox are running through the forest past a snare. And the goose is suspended from the snare. The animals had not eaten for a long time, they were hungry, but the fox did not glance at the goose out of the corner of his eye.
- Why are you yawning, gossip? If you don't see it, it's a goose! - asks the wolf.
“It’s Wednesday, so I’m fasting and I don’t eat meat,” the fox answers.
The wolf remembered that he himself does not observe fasts, eats meat whenever he comes across it, jumped on the goose - and hung in the snare. Then the fox boldly approached the goose and began to eat it, so that the bones crunched.
“Gossip, it’s fast today,” the half-dead wolf reproached her.
“That’s why fasting is for those who don’t reach the ground with their paws,” the fox answered him.
