The first woman in this country was Abungdit. The first man is Gurundit.
And then Abungdit gave birth to two twins. One was handsome - with black shiny and smooth skin. The second one was born wrinkled, red-pink and disgusting. The prescribed number of days passed, and the father had to see his sons for the first time to determine their fate.
By the day when Gurundit was about to come to Abungdit's hut, the mother loved her black son with all her soul and hated the pink one. At the thought that her father would take her pet away from her, her mother’s heart broke.
And so, when Gurundit came, Abungdit told him that only one child was born - a pink one. She showed the freak to her father, and hid the black baby in her hut.
Gurundit took his pink son to him. He gave him the best pastures, gave him the best weapons, excellent clothes and all kinds of food in abundance.
Meanwhile, the black son was growing up. And so he began to ask his mother where his father was and what he would receive as an inheritance. But his mother could not give him anything except a spear.
The black son realized that his mother Abungdit was too poor, and decided to go and show up to his father. He wanted to ask him to give him his filial share and give him good weapons, clothes and other necessary things. And he came to his father's house.
When Gurundit saw his second son and learned that he had been deceived, he became furious.
- I won't give you anything! - he shouted.
“If you don’t give me anything,” the black son said to his father, “I will sit on the ground in front of your house and sit until I die.”
He did just that.
In the morning, when Gurundit left the house, he saw his black son at the doorstep.
In the evening, when Gurundit was returning home, he saw his black son at the doorstep.
And so it was for many days, his son still sat in the same place.
Finally Gurundit could not stand it any longer and, in order to get rid of his black son, gave him a heifer.
That is why until now the Dinka had nothing but spears and cattle, while the pink people had guns, clothes, food, and all other things in abundance.
