Molla Nasreddin, in his old age, was invited to be an honorary justice of the peace. The first case he had to deal with was a robbery case. Nasreddin listened to the victim and said:

- Yes, you're right.

But he hasn’t heard the accused yet!

The court clerk whispered in his ear:

- You are not yet accustomed to the established order, Mr. Judge. Understand, you can’t do this. You must now listen to the other side before making a decision.

“Okay,” Nasreddin nodded.

Another man, a robber, told his story. Nasreddin listened and said:

- You're right.

The secretary was confused and again whispered in Nasreddin’s ear:

- What are you saying? Both can't be right!

“And you’re right,” Nasreddin answered.
