Where did animals, birds and fish come from?

When the mother of the universe Eingana created the earth, she forgot to make animals, birds and fish. She created valleys and mountains, forests and deserts, seas and rivers, people, trees and plants, but did not think about animals, birds and fish.

Eingana also created rain so that it would fill the bottoms of rivers with water, and his brothers - lightning and thunder.

And Eingan loved them like her own sons, and most of all she loved Marragon the Lightning. She gave Marragon many stone axes so that he could crush rocks and destroy trees. And Marragon’s brother - thunder - at the same time rumbled and thundered terribly.

Marragon the lightning had a son who had never descended to earth. And he wanted to know how people live on earth.

He went downstairs and began to watch the warriors dance the dance of celebration and war.

The elder of the tribe saw him and ordered him to be captured so that his father, Marragon the Lightning, would no longer cause harm to the Novarning tribe.

Marragon the Lightning found out about this and became terribly angry.

With his stone axes, he split the rocks behind which the people of the tribe were hiding, and smashed the trees under which they stood. Marragon the lightning freed his son, and he also chased after the people.

It became scary on earth. The people of the Novarning tribe ran in all directions, seeking salvation from the wrath of Marragon the Lightning, and soon they turned into animals, birds and fish. The animals hid in holes, the birds rose high into the sky, and the fish sank to the bottom of the seas.

And Marragon the lightning and his brother thunder still visit the earth. Both people, animals, and birds are afraid of them and hide from them.
