“Ignorance is deeper, but knowledge is shallower,” answered the Beginningless One. — Ignorance is internal, and knowledge is external.

- Then ignorance is knowledge? And knowledge - ignorance? But who knows the knowledge of ignorance?
“We cannot hear the path,” answered the Beginningless One, “if we hear it, it means it is not the path.” The path is invisible: if we see it, it means it is not the path. The path cannot be expressed in words; if expressed, then it is not a path. Whoever has cognized the formless, which forms forms, understands that the path cannot be named.
“Those who ask about the path and answer about it do not know the path,” continued the Beginningless One. Even if the person asking about the path has not yet heard of it. You cannot ask about the path; there is no answer to questions about it. Anyone who asks about something that cannot be asked reaches a dead end. He who answers what cannot be answered does not have inner knowledge. Anyone who, not possessing internal knowledge, expects questions that lead to a dead end, does not observe the universe in the external, does not know the beginning in the internal. That is why such people cannot climb the Mount of Elder Brothers Union, nor wander in the great emptiness.
