A certain man named Ali was going on a trip. And he decided to hide the money. He took the pot, poured money into it, poured honey on top and took it to his friend Tanko.
Two years have passed. Tanko, thinking that Ali would not return, decided to see what was in the pot. He opened it and saw that the honey had spoiled. Without thinking twice, Tanko turned the pot over, and then money poured out of it. Tanko took the money and poured fresh honey into the pot and sealed the pot again.
After some time, Ali returned and asked Tanko for his pot. He opened the pot, but did not find any money in it. Ali came to Tanko and said:
“It’s not good to do this, Tanko.” If you needed money, I would have given it to you anyway. But since you took them without asking, I demand that you return them.
Tanko started shouting that he didn’t see any money.
Ali appealed to the judge, but he refused to hear the case, since Ali gave money to Tanko without witnesses. Then Ali told the emir himself about everything. The emir ordered to call the judge and advisers and asked them:
— How long can honey stand without spoiling?
“No more than a year,” they answered.
“Now try the honey in Ali’s pot and tell me your opinion,” the emir ordered.
They tasted the honey and confirmed that it was fresh.
-Did you hear? - asked Emir Tanko. - Explain to us how honey that has stood for two years remains fresh?
And the emir ordered Ali to return the money, and Tanko was severely punished.
