Some travelers reached the foot of a high mountain, at the very top of which, according to rumors, countless treasures were hidden. They soon saw that there were many paths leading to the top.
The travelers wanted to get to the top as quickly as possible, and they argued about which way was better and more convenient. Not coming to an agreement, the travelers went around the mountain to ask local residents. In each village they received the same answer - only the path starting from here leads to the top, and all other paths do not reach there. The travelers were completely confused.
Several of the bravest or most desperate went up one path and reached the first mountain plateau. From there they heard someone calling them from the very top of the mountain. The distance was great, the sound of the voice barely reached, but still the travelers made out:
- Do not doubt, all paths lead to the top... Overflowing with joy, they brought this news to those waiting for them below. The travelers all walked around the mountain again and told the residents of the surrounding villages that all paths lead to the top. Somewhere people believed them, somewhere they raised a cry or got into an argument. Apparently, due to the gusty wind on the plateau, the messengers did not understand everything that the voice shouted to them from above:
- Rest assured, all paths lead to the top. Climb up here along one of them.
