Fate once brought one Yankee to New London. He arrived there on a rainy autumn evening and decided to go to the tavern to warm up. However, there was not a single free place near the comfortably glowing fireplace. Actually, this is how it should be on a cold autumn evening.
Of course, it never occurred to anyone to give him a seat or at least move over.
Then the tired Yankee called the owner and ordered him to feed his horse, namely: prepare fresh oysters, and lots of them!
He had to repeat this order twice, no, three times, until the owner finally understood what the new guest required of him. And he immediately rushed to carry out the order. He personally carried a dish of fresh oysters to his guest's horse.
Following the owner were all his other guests, who did not regret leaving the warm cozy places near the burning fire just to satisfy their curiosity and see how the horse would eat oysters.
Soon the owner returned to the Yankee, who was now sitting in a deep comfortable chair, standing in the warmest place by the fire, and told him that the horse refused to eat oysters.
- Poor stupid animal! - the Yankee sighed. - Doesn't understand the joy of life. Well, bring them to me! You'll see how I deal with them.
Yes, the Yankees will always find a way out of the situation.
