Once upon a time there was a Wave. She loved to frolic in the wind. She loved to caress the stones on the shore.
One day she wandered into an unfamiliar bay. There was a cliff there. He stood in the middle of the bay. Wave made friends with Cliff. They could talk for hours. They spent all their time together.
One day the Wave realized that she fell in love with the Cliff. He also liked the cheerful and carefree Wave. But he told her:
- No, you can’t love me. I am Stone. I am Utes. I myself don’t know how to love. You will break on me.
But the Wave was not going to retreat. She tried to hug the Cliff, and scattered into a thousand golden splashes. But the Wave gathered again. She forced herself to simply communicate with Utes. She carefully removed the shells clinging to its base. But Utes said:
- I am strong. I am a stone. I don't need your concern.
And again the wave rushed towards Him. And again the spray sparkled in the wind...
Years passed. Wave still loved the Cliff. He pretended not to notice it. She still tried to get closer to him - and still crashed.
And one morning the Wave disappeared. The cliff woke up and didn’t see her nearby. But he forced himself not to think about her. Days followed each other, but she was still not there.
Several years passed and she returned. She has changed a lot. Now Wave knew much more about life. She was no longer so frivolous and carefree. But she still loved the Cliff. And he... he pretended that he didn’t care that she was back. After all, he is a stone. How can he afford to have a weakness for Wave?
Many more years have passed. The wave still communicated with the Cliff, but there were no more intimate conversations and long night vigils. The cliff was getting old. The water was eating away at him. And Wave traveled, got to know new countries and cities, new people. And somehow, returning home, she realized that she was no longer thinking about the Cliff. Utes understood this too. And he also realized that he could not live without her: without her stories about cities and foreign shores, without her chirping about everything. And he said to her:
- Yes, I am a stone. Yes, I am Utes. But I can't live without you.
And he fell into the Wave. And Wave... She just kissed him goodbye.
