Two nutcrackers

Two nutcrackers
Enlight

There lived two nutcrackers. One day they went to collect nuts. We came to the place where they had already collected once! One nutcracker flew up onto the cedar and began dropping cones to the ground. Another began to collect cones dropped by her friend.

The nutcracker threw a cone. This bump hit her friend

in the eye and knocked it out. A nutcracker sits with a knocked out eye and cries bitterly.

An old man walked past and asked her:

- Kedrovka, kedrovka, why are you crying?

— My friend knocked out my eye with a cone.

- Cedar tree, why did you gouge out your friend’s eye?

- The cedar tree whipped me.

- Cedar tree, cedar tree, why did you whip the nut tree?

- The squirrel shook me.

- Squirrel, squirrel, why did you shake the branch?

“The hunter is chasing me, I was running away from him.”

- Hunter, hunter, why are you chasing a squirrel?

“I want to eat squirrel meat, my wife prepared me for a hunt and gave me little bread.”

“Woman, woman, why didn’t you give your husband enough bread?”

— A deer ate our flour.

- Deer, deer, why did you eat the flour?

— Out of grief, the wolf killed my little calf.

- Wolf, wolf, who told you to eat a calf from a deer?

“Nobody told me to, I wanted it myself.”
