One day a dervish came to the village. The residents told him that their rajah was also a dervish. The visiting dervish asked to meet with him, because he was surprised how a rajah, the richest man, could be a dervish. The Raja accepted him. By certain signs they recognized each other as dervishes and began to address each other as brother to brother.
“Brother, I don’t understand,” said the dervish, “you have a huge palace, a beautiful harem, wealth... How can you be a dervish with all this?” I have nothing, I go around the world and teach people.
- Oh, how good. What a good life you have, I want that too,” said the Raja.
“Then come with me,” answered the dervish.
“Let’s go,” said the Raja, stood up and headed towards the gate.
“Hey, wait,” exclaimed the dervish, “I still have a cup and a staff in your palace.” I have to take them.
