Two cups of life

Two cups of life

Two babies were born in an instant: one in a rich family and the other in a poor family. Two guardian angels ascended to heaven to fill the cups of life for their babies from heavenly sources. One guardian angel was allowed to the source of wealth. He rejoiced and filled the baby’s cup of life to the brim. The second angel was led to the source of poverty. With a bitter sigh, he filled the cup of life from this source. But the angel did not fill the cup to the brim, hoping that his baby would get something other than poverty.

As both angels descended to Earth, the Goddess of Love flew past. Crystal tears of love dripped from her eyes. One drop of love fell into an incomplete cup. The second bowl was already full, and nothing fell into it.

Both angels met on Earth.

“Look, I’m bringing wealth to my baby,” the first angel boasted.

“Your drink is bitter,” remarked the second angel. —Envy, betrayal and loneliness always float in the source of wealth.

- Are poverty and deprivation really sweeter?! - the first angel was indignant.

- No, they are bitter, but the heavenly drop of love that the Goddess poured into my cup of life will reduce its bitterness and fill life with light.
