Tullus Hostilius - according to legend, the third king of Ancient Rome. Ruled from 673 to 641 BC. e. Under him, the city of Alba Longa was destroyed, and the borders of Rome for the first time went beyond the city walls.
Tullus Hostilius was the grandson of the bravest of the Roman warriors who died in the battle with the Sabines - Hostius Hostilius. Before being elected king, Tullus Hostilius was engaged in agriculture, but upon ascending the throne, ambition began to play in him, so his reign was marked by many wars.
Having assumed the royal position, Tullius immediately began to look for a reason for war with his neighbors. Border skirmishes between Rome and Albo Longa, as well as the refusal of damages on both sides, served as an excellent reason for declaring war.

The Romans considered his death a sign and decided to elect a more peace-loving king to the kingdom - Ancus Marcius.
