And a certain man tried to ford it. Confucius sent disciples to him to restrain him and say:
“Whoever decides to cross it will have a hard time!”
But the man did not listen to them: he crossed the stream and got out to the other bank.
- How clever you are! - Confucius exclaimed. - Apparently you have your own secret? How did you manage to enter such a whirlpool and get out unharmed?
And the man answered like this:
“As soon as I enter the flow, I surrender myself completely to it and entrust myself. Having surrendered and trusted, I place my body in the waves and currents, not daring to be willful. That's why I can enter the flow and exit again.
- Remember this, students! - said Confucius. “Truly, even with water, by surrendering to it and trusting, you can become close – and even more so with people.”
