One day, peasants from the village of Hölmöly went to the city. The road is long, so they stopped for the night in the same house. They unharnessed and fed the horses, and in order not to mix anything up in the morning - the inhabitants of Hölmöla were always very forgetful - they placed the sleigh with its shafts towards the city.
A passerby happened to pass by here. So, as a joke, he turned the sleigh in the opposite direction.
In the morning the peasants woke up, harnessed their horses and hurriedly set off.
They go, they go, they seem to have gone far. Suddenly one old man says:
- Look, no way, we passed here yesterday.
“There are many places on earth that are similar to each other,” they answer him.
The men drove into the village, and the old man shouted:
“The village is just like ours.”
“All villages are the same,” came the answer.
And the old man shouts again:
“Isn’t this my house?”
- What are you talking about?! - someone laughed. “Your house is oh, how far away now.”
And the old man’s wife, hearing her husband’s voice, left the house.
“Yes, this seems to be my wife,” the old man was dumbfounded.
The old woman ran up to the sleigh, and everyone understood: they really had arrived in their native village!
Everyone was very surprised!
