Tree of Immortality

One poet once wrote a poem about the tree of immortality that grows in Hindustan. Anyone who eats its fruits will never grow old or die.

A certain king read these lines. He immediately sent one of his court sages to Hindustan. The king's envoy traveled from end to end of Hindustan, trying to find out at least something about this tree.

Many of those he asked thought he was crazy, others laughed at him, and some even mocked him, telling him all sorts of tall tales.

Year after year we spent traveling. The sage was tired of hardships and hardships and began to think about returning. The only thing that held him back was that he would return without completing the king’s task. And before leaving Hindustan, he decided to meet with the most famous Hindustan sage and ask him for advice on what to do.

With this request he came to the local sheikh. When the sheikh asked about the purpose of his coming to Hindustan, he told him in detail about the king’s order, about his searches and how they made fun of him here. The Sheikh thought for a moment and then said:

“What you are looking for is called the Tree of Knowledge.” Its branches extend to infinity, and I know where this tree grows. It, this tree, is the only one in the whole wide world. You asked about the wrong thing at all; what was important to you was its name, not its essence. Ignorance and misunderstanding of the essence is always fraught with many troubles, including those that you suffered!
