A certain visitor, finding himself in New York, woke up quite late and, when he left the hotel, discovered that his car had been towed by the police.
As a result, he was late for the meeting he was going to, and the business lunch lasted longer than he expected. And the fine must be a colossal amount.
Suddenly he remembered that the day before he had picked up a one-dollar bill from the ground, and realized some strange connection between it and the morning incident. “What if I, by taking this dollar, took it away from someone who really needed it? What if I interfered with some destiny?”
And he, having decided to get rid of the bill, suddenly noticed a beggar sitting on the ground. And he hurriedly handed the dollar to him.
“Just a minute,” responded the beggar. “I am a poet and I will repay you for your kindness with poetry.”
“Just make it shorter, please,” said the visitor. - I'm in a hurry.
“Yes, you are still alive only because,” answered the beggar, “you didn’t make it on time to where you were in such a hurry in the morning.”
