Once Afandi’s wife said:

- Oh, how I want you to become a person in this world, to learn how to buy and sell, to become a merchant, and together with you I would begin to eat deliciously, dress well and be the first among the wives of merchants!..

Determined to become a man, Afandi went to the market. He had ten pieces of silver in his pocket. With all these ten tanga - one tanga per ten - he bought chicken eggs, chose a more comfortable place in the market, sat down and began selling the eggs at eleven pieces for a piece of silver.

In the evening, when he had sold all the eggs and returned home, his wife asked:

- Well, how did you trade?

“Not bad,” replied Afandi, “being content with little, I bought chicken eggs at ten tanga, and sold them at eleven tanga...

And Afandi’s wife realized that she couldn’t be a merchant’s wife!
