One day the Tiarian went to reap millet. And he said to his wife:

- I'm going to reap millet. In a few hours, bring me lunch to the field.

“Okay,” answered the wife.

The Tiarian set off. Its millet grew on a hillock overlooking a deep gorge. When he came to the field and began to mow, a partridge rose from under his very feet and flew, flapping its wings.

“Pinyush, pinyush!” – her wings rustled during the flight. Then she fell like a stone into the gorge.

It seemed to the Tiarian that the bird was mocking him, teasing him. And he said in his hearts:

- Look what! Great is the science of sitting on eggs! Do you think you're the only one who knows how to hatch chicks? I can do it too!

He stopped reaping, found partridge eggs and began to hatch the chicks. So he sat on his eggs until his wife came. Noticing her from a distance, he shouted:

- Wife! Don't come near me! Otherwise I’ll also do a “piniush!”

When she finally approached, the Tiarian said:

- Wife! I told you not to come. But since you came up, I’ll have to do “piniush.”

-What happened to you? – she asked. – Explain to me, hubby, what is this “piniush” that you are going to do?

And she came close to him.

Then he stood up, waved his arms, imitating a bird, rushed into the gorge and crashed.
