Tiger and boy

Tiger and boy

It was a long time ago. A father and a boy were hunting. The son was still a child and did not know how to hunt well. He simply helped his father: he would make tea and chop wood.

One day, while hunting, the father has a dream that a tiger says to him: Leave me your child. If you don’t leave your son, I won’t let you return home, I’ll kill everyone here.

While the son was still sleeping, the old man stood up. I thought: What should I do? If you don’t abandon your own son, the tiger will destroy us all. Well, how can I save my life and abandon my child? I’ll do this: I’ll stay at home and come and see my son. If a tiger eats it, I’ll come and collect the bones.

So he decided and abandoned his sleeping son in the taiga.

The child slept, slept, got up. I got up, so what? His father is gone. Eh... gone hunting, he thought. Having dressed, he left the hut. He looked around and saw a tiger approaching him. Horrified, the boy climbed a tree with large branches. The tiger climbed up and got stuck between the branches. Can't move anywhere. And the boy jumped onto another tree and went down to the ground. I drank tea and prepared food for my father. Waiting for his father. Evening. No father. So I went to bed. He dreams at night that a tiger is crying and asking to be saved, and promises various gifts for this.

The next morning he took an ax and went to the tiger. I spent the whole day cutting down trees. The tiger roared three times and quietly left.

At night, the tiger again says to the boy in a dream: Get up in the morning. Set traps. Draw a circle with mittens.

That's all I did, and the next day I went to look at the crossbows. All traps were with sables. So he mined for several days in a row.

The father lives at home and finally goes to see his son. He approaches the hut, and smoke comes out of it. I thought: Apparently he’s alive. The door opened. I looked. The son is sitting, and the hut is full of sables.

The father saw this, hugged and kissed his son. We ate and went to bed. We got up the next morning, loaded everything up and returned home.
