What is this three in the morning?
One monkey trainer, coming to his charges, announced to them:
— As for your bananas: you will receive three in the morning and four in the evening.
Hearing this, all the monkeys became angry. Then the trainer suggested:
- Okay, then we’ll leave it as before: four bananas in the morning, and three in the evening.
The animals were satisfied with this option.
Both of these options were the same - the number of bananas did not change, but in one case the monkeys were unhappy, and in the other they were happy. The trainer willingly changed his own proposal to suit specific conditions, without losing anything.
A truly wise person, considering both sides of a problem without partiality, sees both of them in the light of Tao. This is called going in two directions at the same time.
