Thought of the Vine

Thought of the Vine
Enlight

There was a grapevine in the world that thought: “Why do people take my grapes every year, take them away, and no one ever says thank you to me?”

One fine day, a wise man passed by and sat down to rest nearby. “Here,” thought the vine, “is my chance to clear up the mystery.” And she said:

- Wise man! You see, I am the vine. When my fruits ripen, people come and take them away. I didn’t see even a hint of gratitude from any of them. Can you explain to me the reason for this behavior?

The sage thought and said:

“In all likelihood, the reason is that all these people have the impression that you cannot help but give birth to grapes.”
