A long time ago, long ago,
When the pigs drank wine
And the monkeys chewed tobacco,
And the chickens pecked him
And because of this they became tough,
And the ducks quacked: quack-quack-quack!
Once upon a time there lived an old pig with three little piglets. She herself could no longer feed her piglets and sent them around the world to seek happiness.
So the first little pig went and met a man with an armful of straw on the road.
“Man, man, give me some straw,” the pig asked. - I'll build myself a house.
The man gave him straw, and the pig built himself a house.
Soon a wolf came to his house, knocked on the door and said:
- Piglet, piglet, let me in!
And the piglet for him:
- I won’t let you in, I swear by my beard!
Then the wolf says:
“As soon as I blow or spit, I’ll immediately demolish your house!”
And the wolf blew and spat - he immediately demolished the whole house and swallowed the pig.
And the second little pig met a man with a bundle of brushwood and asked him:
- Man, man, give me some brushwood, I’ll build myself a house.
The man gave him some brushwood, and the pig built himself a house. A wolf came to his house and said:
- Piglet, piglet, let me in.
- I won’t let you in, I swear by my beard!
“As soon as I blow or spit, I’ll immediately demolish your house!”
And the wolf blew, spit, spit, and blew - he demolished the whole house and swallowed the pig.
And the third little pig met a man with a cart of bricks and asked him:
- Man, man, give me some bricks, I’ll build myself a house.
The man gave him bricks, and the pig built himself a house.
And the wolf also came to him and said:
- Piglet, piglet, let me in!
- I won’t let you in, I swear by my beard!
“As soon as I blow or spit, I’ll immediately demolish your house!”
And the wolf will blow, spit, spit, blow, blow, and spit, but the house still stands there. Well, the wolf sees: no matter how much you blow, no matter how much you spit, you still won’t demolish the house, and he says:
- Listen, little pig, I know where the sweet turnips grow!
- Where? - asks the pig.
— In Mr. Smith's garden. Tomorrow, get up early, I’ll come pick you up, and together we’ll pick turnips for lunch.
- OK! - says the pig. - I'll wait for you. When will you come?
- At six.
Agreed. And the pig got up at five and picked turnips for himself before the wolf arrived. After all, he arrived at six.
-Are you up yet, little pig? - asked the wolf.
- For a long time! - answered the piglet. “I’ve already returned from the garden and cooked a full pot of turnips for lunch.”
The wolf was very angry, but did not show it, but tried to figure out how to lure the pig out of the house.
- Piglet, I know where the glorious apple tree grows!
- Where? - asked the piglet.
“Down there, in the Merry Garden,” answered the wolf. “If you want, tomorrow at five in the morning I’ll come pick you up and we’ll pick as many apples as we want.” Just make sure you don't deceive me again.
That's what they decided on.
And the next morning the pig jumped up at four o'clock and ran at full speed for the apples. He wanted to go back to the wolf. But the garden was far away, and we also had to climb a tree.
And so, as soon as the piglet began to descend to the ground, the wolf was right there. Well, the pig got cold feet! And the wolf came up to him and said:
- Oh, it's you, piglet! He came before me again. Well, how are the apples delicious?
- Very! - the piglet answers. - Hold it, I’ll throw you one!
And he threw the apple to the wolf, but he threw it so far that while the wolf was running after him, the pig jumped to the ground and ran home.
The next day the wolf, as if nothing had happened, came to the pig again.
“Listen, little pig,” he said, “there’s a fair in Shanklin today.” Will you go?
- Well, of course! - answered the piglet. - When are you going?
- At three.
And the pig left the house early again. He ran to the fair, bought a butter churn and was about to head home when he suddenly saw a wolf.
Out of fright, the piglet climbed into the churn, but unfortunately, he knocked it over and rolled down the hill with it straight onto the wolf. And he scared the wolf so much that he barely ran away and even forgot about the fair.
And when he came to his senses, he went to the house where the pig lived and told what happened to him at the fair. The little pig burst out laughing:
- Ha-ha-ha! But it was I who scared you! I went to the fair and bought a butter churn there. And when I saw you, I climbed into it and rolled down the hill.
At this point the wolf simply became furious.
- I’ll eat you now! - he growled and climbed onto the roof, and from the roof into the chimney and down the chimney straight into the fireplace.
The pig realized that things were bad for him, quickly lit a fire in the fireplace and put a cauldron of water on it. As soon as the wolf's legs appeared in the pipe, the pig took the lid off the cauldron, and the wolf fell straight into the water.
And this way and that the wolf turned in the cauldron - he kept trying to get out. Finally he strained himself and jumped out. Yes, it burst from the strain! And they jumped out of his stomach - believe me! - two pig brothers.
The piglets were very happy to see each other again, they began to dance and danced until the morning.
