The Tale of Pshitla

by
The Tale of Pshitla
Enlight

As they say and retell, once upon a time there lived a husband and wife. Their house stood next to the prince's, and they were poor peasants.

One day Pshi called Pshitl to him and told him to go to a distant land, where he would find a lot of gold, bring it back to Pshi and become rich himself. “Who knows, maybe I’ll be lucky,” hope crept into the poor man’s heart, and he decided to go.

Pshy knew well that he was sending the poor man to certain death. And the poor man, hoping to get out of poverty, diligently prepared for the journey. Sitting on the porch, he was repairing the horse harness. The wife, sitting at his feet, asked her husband not to leave. She felt in her heart that he would die in a foreign land, and she was expecting the birth of a child any day now. But no matter how much the wife asked, the husband ignored her words - he decided to go.

By evening, he prepared his horse and harness, and his wife packed him travel provisions. At dawn, when the village was still sleeping, the pshitl mounted his horse and set off. Nobody knew where he went.

His wife never waited for his return.

When the time came, the woman had a son.

It went day after day, month after month, and so many years passed. The boy grew up and was eighteen years old.

One day a guy was playing with Psha’s sons and accidentally broke the arm of one of them. He cried loudly, and his mother ran out into the street in response to the boy’s cry:

– If you have nowhere to put your strength, then you better find out where your father is and what happened to him!

From then on, the young horseman began to often think about where his father was, and more than once asked his mother about it, but she did not answer.

One day, the mother prepared huntoops and placed it in front of her son. He began to ask his mother to eat with him. The son said:

- Nana, you and I have never eaten together. Let's always eat together now.

The woman was surprised by her son’s words:

- No, my boy. Until now we have not eaten at the same table and now we will not.

But the young man did not touch the food until his mother sat down with him to eat.

The son ate in silence for some time, and then suddenly grabbed his mother’s hand and thrust it into the huntoops:

“Nana, swear on salt paste that you will tell me everything I ask you,” he said.

“Oh my boy, I promise you, I’ll tell you what I know.” I live badly in this big world, but I don’t die. What can I tell you when I myself know nothing about the fate of your father. Let go of my hand.

- No, Nana, until you tell me what happened to our father and where he is, I won’t let you go.

- Oh my boy, who will I tell if not you. Let go of your hand, I’ll tell you everything I know,” the mother promised.

And she told her son about how Pshi persuaded his father to go for wealth and how he did not return. She also told him that her father had raised in a dungeon, secretly from people, a groom from his horse in case he had a son.

“Nana, if I’m alive, I’ll definitely find out swag about my father,” said the young man.

He spent the day in deep thought. And when I went to bed, I couldn’t sleep for a long time - I kept thinking about following in my father’s footsteps and finding out swag about whether my father was alive or missing. At dawn a sweet dream overcame him. He dreamed that an unfamiliar man came up to him and said: “If you go on a journey, cross seven rivers, you will come out on the only road that goes through the forest. Drive along this road. It will lead you to the golden house, there you will learn swag about your father and become rich...” That morning the horseman slept for a long time. When he woke up, the sun was already at its zenith.

- Oh Nana, in a few days I will set off. “Prepare a gomyle for me on the way,” he told his mother.

- Oh my boy, I asked your father not to go anywhere, he did not listen to me and did not return. You are the only one I can rely on, so I ask you - do not leave your father’s house,” the mother said and began to cry.

But the son began to get ready for the journey. He abandoned youthful amusements and was only engaged in repairing harness and grooming his horse.

Pshi, who killed his father, noticed the preparations of the young horseman and decided to find out what he was up to. One day Pshi sent his unaut for the young man and ordered him to be brought to him.

When the horseman entered the house, Pshi ordered to serve him the best treat, and after that he began to ask how far he was going. The guy told him everything, didn’t hide anything.

Psha was afraid that the young horseman would want to take power away from him, and therefore approved his intention to go in search of his father.

“Oh, my boy,” said Pshi, “I see everything - how you get up at dawn, how you groom your horse, how you learn to chop with a sword.” All this is good, and may Allah help you in realizing your intentions. And I will help you as much as I can. Your horse, weapons and equipment are not suitable for a long journey. Wait, my boy, a week, and I’ll order a horse and a weapon to be prepared for you,” said Pshi.

“I can’t wait another week,” said the young man.

“Then go to my herd and take the horse on which I went on campaigns.” This horse will be worthy of you - it will carry you across seven rivers, there is no other horse in the vicinity that could do this,” said Pshi. “I will give you my sword; in my youth I never had to blush because of it, but I think you need a better sword.” “I’ll order the blacksmiths to order the best sword for you,” said Pshi.

And the horseman went to the prince's herd, where he took the Psha horse. For a week he fed the horse oats, grazed in the best meadow, and gave him spring water to drink. A week passed, Pshi again sent his unaut for the horseman, and they went to the forge. The blacksmiths brought out the finished sword - it was double-edged, heavy (32 pounds!) and sparkled like the sun.

Pshi barely raised his sword, but could not swing it.

“Look, my boy,” said Pshi, “this sword is worthy of you!”

The horseman came up, raised his sword and played it in the air, as if he had a chicken egg in his hands.

Experienced blacksmiths immediately realized that the young man had remarkable strength and no one in the vicinity could defeat him.

When the young man returned from the forge, Pshi ordered travel provisions to be prepared for him and saw him off on his way. The young man mounted his horse and rode out of the yard. Soon he arrived at the river. The horse stopped and began to back away. The horseman raised his whip and remembered that Pshi had warned him: you should not hit a horse with a whip three times, as it could carry the rider very far. But he did not attach any importance to Psha’s words and whipped his horse three times. The horse rushed and swam, parting the water with its chest.

He carried the owner across seven rivers, and not a single drop of water fell on the rider. After this, the horseman pulled the bridle with all his might, and the horse stopped dead in his tracks. The young man dismounted, had a snack and rested.

Having rested, he continued on his way and rode for several days and nights without rest. Soon the horseman arrived at a dense forest, found the only path he was supposed to follow, and entered it.

Without turning anywhere, he rode along this path for three days and three nights. On the third night I saw a house of extraordinary beauty.

He stopped his horse, dismounted and entered the house - there was no one in it. Dzhigit ate a little and decided to wait for the owner to arrive.

Two days passed and no one showed up. During this time, the young man saw his shelter and realized that this was not an ordinary house. When he entered the courtyard, there was a huge house in front of him, and when he returned, he found himself in one single room with one entrance.

Taking a closer look, the horseman saw that the house was made of gold, and then he remembered that this was exactly the house he had seen in his dream. He decided to wait one more day and, if no one appeared again, to return back, taking with him a sap of gold.

Having made this decision, the horseman lay down to rest and fell soundly asleep.

It was already past noon when he woke up from a loud noise. He opened the door and looked around, but saw no one and nothing. The noise intensified, and, sensing danger, the horseman took out his sword and hid behind the door. He decided to cut off the head of whoever entered the house.

A few moments later, a seven-headed beast appeared. When the guy approached the house, he immediately recognized that there was a person in it.

- Allah protects us, now we will eat the delicious meat of a small person! - With these words, the seven-headed fuck opened the door and stuck six of his heads into the rooms? Then the horseman swung his sword and took off all six heads of the monster, and severely damaged the seventh.

The astonished one fell down.

Thinking that the seven-headed dragon had been killed, the horseman threw him into a deep pit, from which, as they said, no one returns alive.

Before he had time to rest from dealing with the seven-headed dragon, a second monster appeared. And he was struck down by a young horseman.

Following the second, the third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh dragons appeared - they all had seven heads, and he defeated them all.

Having dealt with the seven monsters, the horseman approached the house, chopped off gold to fill the sapet and take it to his mother. Meanwhile, he thought: “Why can’t my mother and I live here - it’s better than being slaves; We will have enough gold for the rest of our lives. I’ll bring my mother here, and we’ll live happily here with her,” he decided.

He galloped back and soon arrived home.

The horseman was on the road for many years - during this time he matured, and his mother grew old.

When he entered the house, he saw an old woman sitting by the stove. She stirred the ash in the stove and cried. She was dressed in rags.

- Oh Nana, what happened to you? - the horseman exclaimed.

- Oh my only boy, you came back alive! - What happiness, and I sit and think that you went to where your father once went and did not return. – And the mother rushed to hug her son.

After the horseman returned, mother and son began to live without envying anyone - after all, they had a lot of gold.

Time passed, and the son began to persuade his mother to move to the place from which he had just returned.

- Oh my son, how can I leave the village where I have lived all my life! No, I can’t do this,” said the mother.

- Nana, we can’t help but go. There is a lot of gold there, enough for our lifetime. Why do we have to be pshitly here? “Let’s go,” said the son. “When you want to come here, I will bring you, and you will stay here as long as you want,” he promised.

Soon they set off and arrived at the golden house.

They lived well in their new place - the son went into the forest to hunt, and the mother stayed at home.

It happened that the son did not return from hunting for months. His faithful dogs were always with him. One of them ran far ahead of the owner and, sensing danger, returned back to warn him of trouble. In addition to dogs, the horseman always had a gun and a sword with him.

One day a horseman went hunting in the forest, and his mother, as usual, stayed at home. Suddenly she heard a loud groan and was very scared - she knew that no one lived around. She went out into the yard - no one was visible. The woman returned to the house and continued to do her business. After a while the groan was repeated. The woman left the house again and looked around the entire yard. The moans were heard very close. Then the woman approached the pit into which her son had thrown the dead dragons, and looked into it: then she saw that the seven-headed devil, whose six heads her son had taken off, was moaning.

The dragon crawled out from under the corpses of his brothers and wanted to get out of the hole, but it was so deep that he could not do this without outside help.

Seeing the woman, the fucker plaintively asked:

“Whoever you are, help me get out of this hole: if you don’t have a brother, I’ll be your brother, if you don’t have a husband, I’ll become your husband.” I promise that you will live a century in contentment. For the sake of Allah, help me!

But the woman went into the house, saying: “May Allah kill you before I free you...” But soon she left the house again and went to the pit. Just like the first time, the damn thing began to ask her for help.

The woman decided to become his wife and therefore asked:

- How can I help you get out of the hole?

“There are twelve horses in the stable, take them out and tie a large rope to their tails.” “I’ll grab onto it, and they’ll pull me out,” said the fucker.

The woman quickly went to the stable, took out the horses, tied a large rope to their tails and threw the end into the hole.

Blago grabbed onto him, and the horses pulled him out of the hole.

After this, the woman took the horses to the stable; Helping the patient, she brought him into the house. Blago said:

- Get the key there and open the doors.

The woman took the key and began to open the doors one after another, there were seven rooms in the house. The dragon brothers were being treated in the seventh room, and the devil began to heal his wounds here.

The young horseman had no idea about the existence of these rooms.

When her son returned, the woman locked them, and when her son went hunting, she spent time with the damn man as with her husband.

Time passed, and the woman suffered. She told her dragon husband about this, and he advised:

“When the baby is born, I will take him to the fork in the road and lay him there.” Your son, returning home, will find the child and take him with him. But first he will put him in the stable, in the manger, and then he will go into the house. When you start asking him about the reason for the sadness, he will tell you everything and ask you to raise the foundling. You don’t agree, but he will persistently ask you: “Educate this boy, nana, he will be my younger brother, and you won’t be bored either...” Then you will agree without much reluctance, and then we’ll see.

And then the day came when the mother gave birth to a boy - the young man was hunting at that time.

By the time the young man returned, the god took the child to a fork in the road and laid it there, and he returned home.

When a young man returned home from hunting, usually one dog ran in front of him and the other next to him. Suddenly he saw a foundling baby on the road. The young man was surprised - for how many years he had not met a single living soul here, except animals or animals, and here was a child.

He took it and brought it home, but, being afraid of his mother, he put it in the stable. Saddened, he entered the house. The mother, as usual, joyfully came out to meet her son, took him into the house, and gave him a drink.

- Oh my boy, why are you so sad today, what happened? – she asked.

The son sat silently, did not even touch the food. The mother persistently questioned him, and then he said that he had found the child and asked:

- Nana, raise a boy, and you won’t be bored alone, and he will be my younger brother!

The woman was not very willing, but agreed. And for the young man, the world became bright and joyful, it was as if he was flying on wings of joy. He spent several months at home, without going anywhere, and helped his mother raise the boy.

“I’ve had enough rest,” the horseman said one day, got on his horse and rode off.

Two or three years passed, and the young man still did not know that his mother had become Blyago’s wife and that his younger brother was Blyago’s son. Both the mother and the devil were afraid that he would find out about this, and they planned to destroy him.

One day, when the gonosha, as usual, went hunting in the forest, the devil came out of his room and began to talk to his wife about how to do it. At this time, the son was playing fucking, sitting by the stove, and heard his father say:

- When your son returns from the hunt, I will meet him and fight with him. But you must make sure that he leaves either his sword or his gun at home. “It’s better if he doesn’t have a sword,” said the blyago, “he will consider it unworthy for himself to kill me with a gun.” When he doesn't shoot at me, I'll say, "Dismount, let's play hech-has." He will get off his horse and we will begin to fight. One of us must win. If I win, good, but if he wins, he will burn my body and scatter my ashes to the wind. When this happens, you go to the place where he will burn my body, take some earth soaked in my fat, boil it with paste and feed your son. When he eats this paste, he will die, and I will immediately be resurrected.

The woman agreed to do everything as the fucker taught her.

And the little boy sitting in front of the stove remembered this conversation well.

Suddenly a noise was heard in the yard - the woman’s son had returned from hunting. Blago immediately disappeared into his room, and the woman left the house. She greeted her son so joyfully, as if she had not plotted anything bad against him.

The horseman was delighted to see his mother so cheerful.

- What, Nana, is she alive? And I was afraid for you - I had a bad dream, and I returned from the hunt ahead of time, because I was very worried about both you, Nana, and my brother. What is my little brother doing? – he asked his mother.

“My son, nothing happened to me, and your younger brother sits by the stove and plays all day long,” said the woman.

While the young man was putting the horse in the stable, the woman went into the room and quickly prepared ane for him.

When the young man entered the room, his younger brother joyfully threw himself on his neck.

- What are you doing, my little brother? What heroic deeds do you spend your days doing? - asked the young man.

“The time will come and you will see what I am doing,” the brother answered, laughing.

The young man washed and ate. His younger brother also ate with him. After resting for several days, the young man again mounted his horse and rode off. Before leaving, his mother told him:

“Oh my son, today don’t take both a sword and a gun with you - take one or the other.”

“Mother, the sword dangles here and there, but the gun is more convenient,” he said, but, not wanting to offend his mother, he left the gun, took the sword and left.

While he was hunting, he was preparing for his return. The woman helped him. And the youngest son, who overheard the conversation between his father and mother, who were planning to destroy his older brother, put up a bench and took his brother’s gun from the shelf, took it out of the room and hid it in the feeding trough. After that, he returned, sat down in his original place and continued to play.

Blago prepared for the fight and left his room with the woman. He wanted to take the gun, but did not find it.

– You said that you forced your son to leave the gun, where is it? - asked the fucker.

“Yes, he left the gun, but he probably came back and still took it with him.” “Oh my boy, do you know where your older brother’s gun is?” – the woman turned to her youngest son.

“And my older brother came back from the road, took a gun, didn’t even talk to me and quickly left,” the boy answered.

Blyago stood thinking for a while, then said to the woman:

“I’ll go and meet him unarmed, but he won’t think it’s fair for a brave man to kill an unarmed man.” - And he went to the fork in the road, where he began to wait for the young man to return.

Before he could sit down, two dogs jumped out from around the corner - one stopped dead in his tracks, and the other ran back to his owner to warn him of the danger. Dzhigit immediately prepared to meet the enemy.

Having arrived at a fork in the road, he suddenly saw that seven-headed devil, whom he had long considered dead, only now he had one head: the devil was sitting in the shade of the trees.

“What do I see, where did you come from, didn’t I kill you that time?” You survived, but now I will deal with you! - said the horseman.

Meanwhile, the younger brother, hiding behind a tree, watched them. He prudently took a gun with him and furtively followed the bully, hiding from him behind the trees. The boy was very afraid that his father would kill his older brother.

- O young man, whoever is unarmed is not greeted with weapons! - said damn. - If you want, get off your horse, let's fight in hech-khas, huh?

Dzhigit was confident in his abilities and therefore agreed.

He got off his horse and approached the dragon. They stood face to face. The first was the fucking line. He grabbed the young man and drove him into the ground up to his knees. When it was the young man’s turn, he took the damn and, raising it high, drove it into the ground up to his hips. The bastard became furious and, grabbing the young man a second time, drove him into the ground up to his thighs. Then the horseman realized that if he did not exert all his strength and skill, he would die. And when it was his turn again, he raised the damn high and drove it into the ground up to his waist. Blyago, grabbing the horseman for the third time, hit him with all his might, but drove him into the ground just below the waist. Then the young man gathered all his strength and drove the enemy to the neck - so that he could no longer free himself.

At the same moment, the younger brother, who had been watching the fight from an ambush, jumped up to them. He held a gun in his hands.

- Tell me, brother, where should I shoot? - asked the boy.

“My younger brother, shoot him in the head,” said the horseman.

The boy shot and killed his father - damn.

The young man immediately burned the dragon’s body and scattered the ashes to the wind.

Having put his brother on his horse, he rode home. When we drove close to the house, the boy said:

“Come on, I’ll get off here, otherwise my mother will find out that I helped you deal with the damn thing, and she’ll beat me.”

And so they did. At the gate the mother was waiting for her son.

- Mother, how is your younger brother? - asked the young man.

“He’s playing behind the stable,” she answered. The young man entered the house, his brother also came running and did not even show that anything had happened.

The brothers sat down and ate.

The next day the young man mounted his horse and rode away, telling his mother that he would return in two days. And the woman went to the fork in the road where her fucking husband was burned, took some land there and prepared a paste with this land for her son’s return.

When the eldest son returned, his mother did not come out to meet him. Dzhigit was surprised. After all, she always met him at the gate earlier. He could not understand what happened to his mother, so he quickly entered the house and asked:

- My Nana, what happened to you?

“My son, I’ve had a headache all day, I’m literally dying from the pain.” It never hurt me before. There’s not a drop of water at home, I barely brought some and cooked pasta,” the mother said and placed it in front of her son.

The young man did not sit down to drink without washing his hands. A little boy standing nearby said:

“My elder brother, I will immediately bring water, but I ask you: until I return, do not touch this paste.” - And he ran to the well.

The woman did not like these words of her youngest son.

– You can’t wash your hands once, why are you listening to what this foundling tells you! What the mother who gave birth to you says means nothing to you!

Meanwhile, the boy returned with water and poured water from a jug for his older brother. The two of them sat down to dinner, and the boy again asked his older brother:

- Before we start eating, my elder brother, give this pasta to the dog!

– This brat talks a lot! – the woman said and hit the boy on the head.

But the young man gave a piece of pasta to the dog. She swallowed it and died immediately. .

After that, the boy told his brother everything he knew about his mother’s plan and damn it.

Having learned about his mother’s treachery, the young man took twelve horses out of the stable, tied a woman to them and let them go into the field. They tore it apart.

Since then, the brothers began to live even more friendly than before. The boy always got up early, prepared food for his brother, lit the fire on time, brought water, and cleaned the house. They lived like this for many years.

One day, getting up, as usual, early in the morning, the boy discovered that the fire in the fireplace, which he had covered with ash in the evening, was rooster. The boy was upset because he had nothing to light the fire with. The older brother had a chair in his pocket, but if he had gone into the room to get it, he could have woken him up. What to do? He left the house, climbed the tallest tree and looked around to see if there was a light shining somewhere.

In the distance he noticed a light, quickly climbed down from the tree and went towards it. He walked for a long time and finally saw that an army of foreigners surrounded the palace of the Nogai Khan. The besiegers lit a fire.

The boy needed to take away the fire to cook food for his older brother. Walking silently on the ground, he crept between the trees and crawled to the fire. Then he saw that a large cauldron was suspended above the fire, in which human legs and arms were boiled.

The boy silently took the firebrand and set off on his way back. At this time the wind blew, and the flame from the firebrand fell on the tree. He screamed and, reaching out his hand, grabbed the boy. He made a terrible noise:

- Hey, I caught a little man and I want to throw him into the cauldron! Some foreigners shouted: “Throw it into the cauldron, we’ll eat our fill.”

Others suggested: “We shouldn’t throw him into the cauldron, it’s better to let him help us. If it helps, we’ll let you go.”

The foreigners wanted the boy to help them in one matter.

Since the boy was in a hurry to see his older brother, he promised the foreigners:

- Tomorrow at this time I will be with you, just let me go now!

The foreigners released the boy on the condition that he would return by morning.

The boy returned home, lit a fire and cooked food. When the elder brother got up, the food was ready, he ate well and, not even suspecting the adventures of his younger brother, mounted his horse and rode away.

The time appointed by the foreigners approached, and the boy went to them. When they saw him, they were delighted. The fact is that the inyzhas decided to marry their king to the daughter of the Nogai khan, famous for her beauty, but the khan did not want to marry her off to the inyzha.

That’s why the foreigners surrounded the Khan’s palace.

That huge palace - larger than the Adyghe village - was surrounded by a high stone wall, and foreigners could not get into it.

The Inyzhi told the boy that he must help them get into the palace by any means.

After thinking a little, the boy said:

– Find a larger weight and a thick twisted rope.

“It’s not difficult,” the foreigners said and quickly brought everything they needed. But they could not understand what the boy would do with a rope and a weight.

When everything was ready, the boy said to the foreigners:

– Tie the rope to the weight and throw it into the palace. The foreigners did just that.

“Now I will climb this rope to the palace.” There I will open the small gate; I can't open the big ones. Of course, the small gate will be narrow for you, and when you pass through, it will hurt you, but be patient so that no one finds out about you,” the boy warned.

And so they did.

The boy entered the palace and opened the small gate. The Inyzhi joyfully rushed to the gate.

- Enter one at a time without making any noise. Until I say, “Go next,” let no one pass through the gate,” said the boy.

He let them through one by one, killed each one and cut off his ears. So he killed all the others.

He tied up all the cut off ears and hung them near the room where the khan’s daughter was sleeping. Then he entered her room, took the ring off her finger, and he laid his daughter down so that her head was where her legs were. After this he returned home.

In the morning, the khan's servants were surprised to see their tied ears. They couldn't figure out who did it.

The Khan gathered all the people of his Khanate and announced:

- For the one who killed the other, I will give my daughter.

The sons of many eminent people began to say: “I killed others.” But they could not prove their heroism, and the khan ordered them to be executed. The heads of ninety-nine young men were impaled on stakes.

Khan ordered to find the brave man at any cost.

One day three hunters came to the khan and said:

– We meet a young man while hunting. He is very distinguished, handsome, and always has two faithful dogs with him. But we even know his name.

- It's him! Only he could kill them! Find him! I give you three days! - said the khan and ordered the hunters to go looking for him.

The hunters regretted that they told the khan about this: in three days you wouldn’t find the young man, and they could not refuse to carry out the khan’s order.

Their search for two days was unsuccessful. They were very tired, but on the third day they had to return to the khan. And suddenly, in the evening, the hunters saw a young man - he was sitting under a tree and resting.

The delighted hunters told the young man the swag.

“I won’t go to the khan, I didn’t kill anyone,” said the horseman.

“We can’t go back without you.” Khan orders us all to be hanged,” said the hunters.

“If my arrival saves your life, I will go with you, but I did not fight with the foreigners,” the horseman said again and went with the hunters to the khan.

They arrived at the khan's possessions. The horseman went straight to the khan.

“You can say that you didn’t kill others, but besides you, no one else could have done this and no one else would have dared to enter my daughter’s bedroom,” said the khan.

“Believe me, Khan, I have not met anyone else, I only hunt,” said the young man.

The Khan thought.

“There is not a single person left in my country, old or young, who would not be brought to me.” Look - here are the heads of ninety-nine horsemen who claimed that they had killed others, but could not prove it in any way. “I ordered them to be executed - you see, there are already ninety-nine of them, one is missing from a hundred,” said the khan, pointing with his hand to the horsemen’s heads suspended on stakes.

- O Khan, I am not at all afraid of you, but I cannot take credit for other people’s exploits. “Believe me, Khan,” said the young man.

“Then help me find out who could have done this—whether he was young or old, male or female.”

“I don’t know anyone who could do this,” said the hunter. But, after thinking, he added: “I don’t know, Khan, I have a younger brother, but he is still so small that he cannot wipe his own nose, let alone accomplish such a feat.” He doesn't even know if people live nearby or not. “He spent his whole life in the forest,” said the young man.

- Then it’s him! - the khan decided. “Don’t leave here, go after him and let them bring him,” the khan ordered.

The Khan ordered a feast to be arranged for the horseman, and in the meantime the messengers went for his younger brother.

The boy invited guests into the house. He treated them, and then asked about the purpose of his visit, and they said that the khan was waiting for him.

The boy said:

“I’ll go alone, without you, and you go back to the khan.” People gathered from all over the Khanate in anticipation of the brave man who defeated others.

Meanwhile, the boy got ready, mounted his horse and rode off.

When he began to approach the khan's possessions, the people waiting for him saw the road through the forest sparkle like the rising sun.

“Here comes a brave man,” they all said, and the noise swept through the crowd.

A horseman rode out of the forest in clothes sparkling in the sun. Everyone liked his manner of riding a horse. And his older brother, who had never seen him on horseback, was surprised at what a nice horseman his younger brother was. Everyone decided that, except for him, no one could defeat her.

At that time, the khan's daughter was sitting on the shandak and looking at the approaching rider. He drove up to the shandak, gave the girl the ring and wanted to leave.

“He killed them, and my ring is proof of that,” said the girl.

Khan ordered:

- Bring this horseman to me - he will become my son-in-law! When the boy approached the khan, he said:

- I give you my daughter as a wife!

“No, khan, I will not be your son-in-law,” answered the boy. “And I didn’t do it for your daughter.” I got into trouble and gave my word to the people to help them. But I deceived them and killed all the others.

I did this for the sake of my older brother - and I ask you, give your daughter to him.

The elder brother stood and said nothing. He was only surprised at what he saw and heard. Khan agreed to give his daughter as a gift to his older brother. The wedding feast lasted seven days, and after that the brothers returned home.

From that time on, all three began to live richly and happily, envying no one.
