There lived an old woman and she had a kitten. So they went to cut the brooms. The old woman bent down a birch tree, and a leaf fell on the kitten’s tail. The kitten screamed:
“Grandma, grandma, let’s run quickly, the sky is falling!”
- Don’t run, little kitty, it’s not collapsing. Then another leaf slapped the kitten on its tail! The kitten squealed:
- Grandma, the sky is falling, I’ll run!
And then run! Well run! Met a hare:
- Let's run, scythe - the sky is collapsing!
- Who told you?
“I saw it myself: it fell on my tail!”
And then run! Well run! We met Lisa:
- Let's run, the fox is beautiful - the sky is collapsing!
- Who told you, kitten?
- Nobody said anything, I saw it myself - it fell on my tail!
And then run! Well run! We met a wolf:
- Let's run, gray wolf, the sky is collapsing!
- How do you know?
“I saw it myself: it fell on my tail!” And then run! Well run! We met a bear:
- Let's run, clumsy bear, the sky is collapsing!
- Who told you?
“I saw it myself: it fell on my tail!”
And then run! Well run!
We ran to the forest, found a hut there, and locked ourselves in.
Everyone was hungry, and the hut was empty. We thought and thought and decided to invite a moose to our place for dinner. So we decided:
“Let’s hide, and when the elk comes, we’ll fall on him and tear him to pieces.”
The fox climbed onto the stove, the kitten jumped onto the perch, the hare hid under the broom, the wolf squeezed under the stove, and the bear climbed into the stove.
Everyone hid, there was no one to call the elk. The fox jumped off the stove, came to the elk and said:
- Kindly elk, perhaps come to us for lunch, we baked and prepared everything.
And she was the first to run home and go to the stove again. Here the elk came. As soon as he opened the door, everyone rushed at him. Well, what a misfortune happened: the fox jumped from the stove, broke its neck, the kitten rolled off the perch - sprained its legs, the hare rushed from under the broom - gouged out its eyes, the wolf rushed from under the stove - crushed its ribs, the bear fell out of the stove - broke its spine. But the elk remained alive and went home.
