Mulla Nasreddin turned out to be the only literate person in his village, so all the villagers asked him to write letters for them.

One day a neighbor came to him with a similar request. Nasreddin refused, noticing that his leg hurt.

“But what does your leg have to do with this?” Don't you write letters with your hand? - the neighbor was surprised.

- Don’t you understand? - Nasreddin objected. - Only I can read the letters I write. Therefore, I have to go to recipients in distant villages to read your messages. I’ll write it, but who will read it? My leg hurts a lot, and until I can walk, I won’t write anything.
