One day, Mulla Nasreddin, going to bed, heard a thief wandering on the roof. He immediately began talking to his wife at the top of his voice:
“No matter how much I knocked last night, you didn’t wake up and didn’t open the door.” Finally, I climbed to the roof, said a prayer, and then grabbed a moonbeam and got home.
The thief heard Mulla’s words and hid, and he whispered to his wife:
- Let's snore... And they started snoring.
When the thief was sure that they had fallen asleep, he got up, said a prayer, stretched out his hands to the moon and rushed into the chimney. Mullah shouted to his wife:
- Turn on the light quickly, I caught the thief! The injured thief said:
- Take your time, brother! Thanks to your prayer and my intelligence, I have fallen so much that I can no longer rise.
