The Parable of the Whistling Kettle

One person had a Kettle. He was so beautiful, shiny, and there was a whistle on his nose. The owner of the Teapot loved his guests. They often came to him and always drank tea. The teapot really liked such evenings. The owner took his favorite teapot, filled it with water and put it on the fire. The guests sat waiting for it to boil. And when the water began to boil, the Kettle gave a loud signal. He loved to whistle, but usually he couldn't do it for long. At the first sounds, the owner took the Kettle off the fire.

The guests sipped aromatic tea and admired the owner and his smart Teapot. At these moments the Teapot was unusually happy. After all, everyone loved him. Everyone needed him.

- How good it is to live! - he thought.

But one day, when guests once again gathered in the house and the Kettle was boiling, an argument broke out. People found out what is most important in life. Everyone was arguing, including the owner, and they forgot about the Teapot. He whistled, whistled, called to the stove, but no one heard him. The kettle was in pain because the water had completely boiled away, but no one came. Finally, the owner came to his senses and ran into the kitchen. The kettle was all black with soot. There was a hole burned in the side. The owner was very upset. But there was nothing to do but throw the Kettle in the trash.

The Teapot lies in a pile of garbage and thinks:

- Nobody needs me now. I will never be able to give anyone delicious tea again. Eh! Rather than live like this, it’s better to drown yourself!

And the Teapot went to the river. By the time he got there, night had fallen. In the river, the teapot saw the reflection of the stars, the round moon and fell in love.

“If only I could see the sun goodbye, feel its warmth, and then I wouldn’t be afraid to die.”

And I decided to wait. He lay down on the shore, away from the water, on the sand. And he felt so hurt and sorry for himself that he began to cry quietly. And then he started snoring and snoring... And he didn’t notice how he fell asleep. Teapot woke up from some strange feeling inside. Something was moving there. But it was not water, but something completely unknown to him.

- Who are you? – asked the surprised teapot.

- I am the Shore Swallow. Such a bird.

- What are you doing here?

- I'm making a nest. Soon I will have chicks, little swallows. It is very comfortable here, dry and draft-free. Now, if I can also get some feathers and soft grass, it will be absolutely wonderful.

The swallow was about to fly for the grass, but the Teapot almost screamed, stopping her.

- Wait. So am I your home now?

- Certainly. I will live here with my chicks. Don't delay me, I need to hurry. - and the bird flew away in search of feathers and dry grass.

- Now I am home! Little birds will live inside me... Swallows... They need me! – the Kettle suddenly whistled. How he did it, he didn’t know. But he whistled... That's right, he whistled. Quiet at first, and then louder and happier.

Every person is needed in this world. Each one occupies its own unique niche.

It's important to just see it..!
