The Parable of Flexibility

The Parable of Flexibility

While he was a small child, he had only Desire, which demanded to declare itself: “I want!”

It grew, and over time Debt appeared. "Necessary!" - he insisted.

After some time, Doubt began to periodically appear, whispering quietly: “Is it necessary?”

Following Doubt, fear periodically began to arise, which ominously whispered: “Don’t do it, don’t!”

Confidence, which only called forward, began to argue with Fear.

With Confidence, at some moments Harmfulness entered into an argument. She whispered: “Not like that! Vice versa!"

Laziness came crawling to help Harm. She yawned and persuaded: “Tomorrow, then!”

And every time he needed to do something, different voices, screams, and whispers were heard from different corners of his soul.

Everyone tried to shout over the others, but he was lost because he heard everyone, but at the same time he did not hear anyone.

It was not clear to him who his true friend was, who wanted to help, and who just wanted to talk. This made me so tired that I didn’t want to do anything anymore.

Time passed and one fine day he realized that he had an assistant, and this assistant was Flexibility. She knew how to listen to everyone, and then select the most practical advice. Sometimes Flexibility spoke like Confidence, sometimes like Doubt, sometimes like Desire. But each time it was different and always brought benefits. And it was wonderful!

The years passed, and the older he became, the more he became convinced that under the name of Flexibility, Wisdom had come to him many years ago.
