The time has come, and the man grew old, became weak, and became a burden to his family. One day, when the old man was drinking water, the cup fell from his trembling hand and broke. The daughter-in-law got angry and said to her husband:
“Your father is a grief and a punishment for us, now I will give him water and lunch in a wooden bowl.”
She did as she said, and her husband did not object.
Some time passed. One day, the owner’s son saw a wooden utensil near his grandfather and thought that the old people were probably fed and given water from wooden utensils. He took a piece of wood and began to cut it.
His father and mother asked him:
- Son, what are you doing?
- Wooden dishes. When you are old, I will feed you from it...
The son's words shamed the father and mother, and from that day on they began to take care of the old man.
