Every single one of them set off:
both boys and old people,
and girls and ancient old women.
Very slowly
they moved very carefully,
until they came together in Teotihuacan.
There they established their own laws,
there they established their kingdom.
And those who were first chosen as kings,
were wise men
experts in mysterious phenomena,
keepers of traditions.
Then the dignitaries appeared there.
And all the people built sanctuaries
in honor of the gods of the Sun and Moon.
After that it was done
there are many other smaller shrines.
And they called this place Teotihuacan,
because when the rulers died,
they were buried here.
Then they built pyramids over them,
which are still standing today.
Each pyramid resembles a small mountain,
only made by human hand...
And among them there are very big ones -
Pyramid of the Moon and Pyramid of the Sun.
[…]
And they called it Teotihuacan,
because that was the place
where the rulers are buried.
This is what they said:
"When we die,
or rather, we will not die,
because we will live
and we will be born again,
let's continue to live
let's wake up again
and this will give us happiness.”
So the dead say
when you die:
"Wake up,
the sky has already turned pink,
dawn has already come,
the birds have already started singing,
swallows are chirping,
and butterflies flutter."
And the old people said,
that the one who died
turned into a god.
And also they say:
"He turned into a god"
when they want to say:
"He died."
