Two young men went to the leader to ask him for clothes. And on the way one says:
- Still, the greatest of all is God.
But another objected to him:
- No, the greatest of all is the leader.
So they come to the leader and ask:
-Give us some clothes.
And the second one took it and betrayed his comrade:
- Do you know what he said on the way? He said that the greatest in the world is God. And I argued that the greatest is you!
The leader ordered the servant to bring two robes: one whole, and the other torn. And he gave the whole to the one who praised him, and gave the rags to the second.
Having received what they asked for, the young people left. And the leader ordered his servants to catch up with the young men and kill the one who, in his opinion, did not praise the leader enough. But on the way, the young people changed clothes, and the servants killed the man in rags, and this was precisely the one who praised the leader. When the leader saw that the one who spoke about the greatness of God remained alive, and the one who asserted the omnipotence of the leader was dead, he said:
“So God really is the greatest in the world.”
