Enlight

Two brothers lived their entire lives behind a high city wall, never seeing fields or meadows. And then one day they decided to go to the village.

The brothers were walking along the road and saw arable land where a farmer was working. They looked at him and were surprised:

- What is he doing? It digs up the ground and leaves deep stripes on it! Why spoil the flat land covered with tender green grass?

Then they saw him throwing grain into the furrows.

- Some kind of crazy guy! - they exclaimed. - He takes good wheat and throws it into the dirt!

“I don’t like the village,” one of the brothers said irritably, “strange people live here.”

And he returned to the city.

And the second brother remained in the village. After just a few weeks, he noticed a dramatic change. The sown field began to be covered with young greenery, even more beautiful and tender than the previous one. This discovery impressed him so much that he wrote to his brother to come without delay and see for himself what wonderful changes had taken place in the village.

My brother came and really admired it.

Time passed, and the green shoots became golden ears. Now both understood why the farmer worked. When the wheat was completely ripe, he brought a scythe and began to mow. Then the impatient brother shouted:

- He's crazy, this man! He worked so hard all these months, growing wonderful wheat, and now he is cutting it with his own hands! What nonsense! It's sickening to watch! I'm heading back to the city!

And the patient brother continued to live in the village. He watched how the farmer harvested the crops into the barn, how he deftly separated the grain from the chaff, and was delighted to see that he had collected a hundred times more wheat than he had sown. Only now it became completely clear to him: everything that the farmer did had its own purpose and common sense.

It's the same with God. All His plans are for our good. But a mortal, seeing a tiny part of His creation, cannot comprehend the whole essence and meaning of the actions of the Almighty.
