A certain woodcutter met a Taoist immortal in the mountains. The immortal, who liked the woodcutter, promised to fulfill his every wish. Of course, the woodcutter asked for gold. The immortal touched the huge boulder with his finger, and it immediately turned into a gold ingot. Seeing that the woodcutter looked strangely at the ingot and did not take it, the immortal inquired whether he had given too little gold. To this the woodcutter replied:

- I changed my mind, I don’t need gold anymore. I need your finger.
