Once upon a time there lived a cowardly hare. And yet he somehow rested under an oak tree. A crow landed on an oak tree and threw down an acorn. The acorn hit the hare in the forehead. The little coward got scared, jumped up and ran as fast as he could: he thought the sky was collapsing and a piece of debris fell on his head.
He runs, and a wolf meets him:
-Where are you going, hare?
- Run, brother! The sky is falling!
The stupid wolf believed it and ran off with the hare.
A fox meets them. She rushed off with them, without even asking where or why.
The three of them are running. They ran to a secluded place and hid. The place is secluded, but there is nothing to eat there.
The wolf got hungry and ate the hare. Satisfied my hunger for a short time. And again he wanted to eat, and began to glance at the fox.
The fox guessed what was on the wolf's mind and decided to outsmart him. She looked around and saw: a magpie on a tree. She pointed it out to the wolf and asked:
- Listen, gray one, do you want to become as colorful as a magpie? Then people won't recognize you!
“I want to,” says the wolf.
- Let's go to the river, there are always buffalos lying in the water. Let's grab one, crawl through the carcass and become motley.
We walked along the river, came across a buffalo and killed it.
“Let’s now crawl through the carcass,” says the fox, “and become motley, more motley than a magpie.”
“Okay, just climb up first,” the wolf agreed. The fox pierced the carcass with a club so that he could get through. The cheat ran and jumped through the hole. The wolf ran away and stuck
head and got stuck - neither there nor back! The fox grabbed the club and started beating the wolf. The wolf howled, but who will help him!
This is how the stupid wolf died. And the cheating fox ate plenty of buffalo meat
and ran away into the forest.
