One daughter-in-law used to do this: she would cut up a chicken and roast it on a spit; I put the best cuts for myself and my husband: brisket and shoulder, and for my mother-in-law the worse ones - the back with ribs.
The son began to notice that he and his wife finished eating earlier, but the mother lingered, fiddling with the back and ribs.
One day during lunch, the son asked his mother:
- Mom, what are you eating for so long?
“Your poor mother sucks her back and ribs,” she answered him.
Now the son has figured out why he and his wife cope with food so easily, and his mother still lags behind them. And he decided to teach his wife a lesson.
After some time, the chicken was slaughtered again. The husband called his wife and told her:
- Bring me a whole chicken, today I will divide and distribute the chicken myself.
The wife brought and placed the fried chicken in front of her husband. He took the chicken and began to divide it: he cut out the breast and gave it to his mother, cut out the back with ribs and gave it to his wife. And he took a spatula for himself.
Everyone sat down at the table. Mother and son quickly ate lunch, while the daughter-in-law kept gnawing on the back.
- Mom, what are you doing, did you eat so quickly? - asked the son.
“Let your mother go around you, they served me a tender piece of chicken, I quickly ate it,” she answered.
And then the son turned to his wife, who was gnawing on a bone;
“You served my mother the bony parts—the back of a chicken with ribs—and you served us the soft ones; and the poor, patient old woman was tormented. Now you have seen how wrong it is to harm another. Is it easy to chew hard parts?
The daughter-in-law's back with ribs fell out of her hands, and she blushed with shame.
