One baker kneaded the dough at night and, waiting for it to rise, lay down to take a nap, deciding to himself that he would not oversleep. But he fell asleep soundly and woke up only in the morning. He wakes up in horror, thinks: the dough must be ruined, and he has suffered a huge loss.
- My God! All the baked goods are gone, the money is gone! And where will I get flour for tomorrow?
He ran to the bakery and was dumbfounded with amazement: the bread was baked and laid out for sale. Buyers immediately snapped up all the loaves - the bread turned out to be extremely tasty!
The next night the baker put out the dough again and went to bed, and again the bread was deliciously baked. The baker began to do this every night and became rich. And then one day he says to his wife:
- Come on, wife, let's hide and look through the keyhole, who works so diligently for us?
At midnight they looked through the keyhole and saw that some poor little German in a ragged dress had entered the bakery, took off his coat, rolled up his sleeves and began to work. Having finished his work, he got dressed and disappeared.
The husband and wife felt sorry for the German. The next day they bought him a new coat and put it in the bakery. But, alas, the clothes were still there. But there was no trace of the German. Then they realized that it was not a German, but a Schreitele.
