Yes, in the old days everything happened! The animals wanted to live like humans, to have their own laws and rules, to establish who was more important than whom and who should obey whom. So they began to ask for such a decree, a written document, where all this would be stipulated. God wrote such a letter to them, gave it to the wolf, and appointed him the main ruler among the animals.
But the wolf began to doubt: where could he, a forest dweller, store such an important paper? You never know what can happen in the forest. “I’ll give it to the dog, she still lives in the village, next to the house. It will be more reliable this way,” the wolf thought and gave the letter to the dog.
Well, the dog didn’t keep the letter either. “No matter what happens,” he thinks, “I’m living in the yard, going away. I’ll give the letter to the cat, she, after all, lives in the house, with people. This way it will be better, calmer.” And she gave the letter to the cat.
The cat left the letter with her, everything would have been fine, but here’s the problem: the mischievous boys don’t give her a place to live or a pass. As soon as the cat comes outside, they will chase it. Once they drove the poor thing like this - she had nowhere to go, a fire was burning ahead, and she waved through it. It was then that the cat dropped the letter into the fire - she kept the letter under her tail. Of course, the letter burned to the ground.
From then on, it became a custom: a wolf chases a dog, demands a letter, and a dog chases a cat. The dog barks and growls:
- Return the certificate! Return the certificate! And the cat will ruffle its fur, bare its muzzle, turn around, hiss and purr:
