The wolf stole sheep from the village residents. One day, having caught a lamb, the wolf was in a hurry to eat it, and the bone got stuck in his throat.

He could not swallow, he even had difficulty breathing. From fear and pain, the wolf could not find a place for himself. He went to the tabib.

“Your grief cannot be helped,” said Tabib, “the bone is stuck so deep in your throat that it cannot be removed.” You'll have to die.

The wolf was terribly scared. Weeping bitterly, he walked through the field. The stork wandered through the swamp, caught frogs and ate. Hearing the cry of the wolf, he approached him and asked:

-What happened to you?

- Oh, don't ask! - answered the wolf. “Woe is me: I must die!” I have a bone stuck in my throat. Tabib refused to help me!

The stork sees that the wolf is really feeling bad. The stork felt sorry for the wolf.

- Come on, come closer. “I’ll see what’s in your throat,” said the stork. “Once upon a time my father was a tabib.” I learned something from him.

- Oh, my good one! - the wolf said joyfully. “If you save me from this misfortune, I will reward you with whatever you want!”

The stork stuck its long beak into the wolf's throat, grabbed the bone stuck there and pulled it out.

Feeling relieved, the wolf, very pleased, began to run.

- Stop! Where is your reward? - said the stork.

- You're still unhappy! - exclaimed the wolf. “You stuck your head down my throat and pulled it back out intact!” Isn't this your reward? And if I bit your head off, what would you do then?

The stork did not answer the wolf, but thought: “It is not worth treating such patients.”
