One day Luna was invited to a holiday. But there wasn't enough room for everyone to sit, so she decided to get rid of her little companions. The moon opened the door of the sky, and the rooster and hen fell down. The brother and sister fell to the ground in the middle of a large village; Stunned by the fall, they could not rise and lay as if dead. The people in the village thought that Zanahari had sent them, and began to pray to unfamiliar creatures, who remained silent and motionless. They kept repeating: “Let’s raise! Let’s raise the children of Zanachari so that their father will be favorable to us!” That is why, instead of the word fitekutra - the previous name for chickens - their current name akuhu appeared: it comes from the word ankuhunkuhi, which means “raise”.
Meanwhile, the Sun eagerly awaited the return of his friend the Moon.
- Where are your little guides? - it exclaimed, seeing that the Moon was walking back alone.
“They ran in front of me and stumbled.” No matter how hard I tried to hold them, they fell to the ground.
- Oh, what a misfortune! - cried the Sun, flying into a terrible rage. - Don’t be surprised if I take revenge on you.
- How so, brother! - answered Luna. “Think carefully, is it really my fault?” After all, your brothers paid for their own carelessness. If you threaten me with revenge, I won't trust you anymore.
“How can I not take revenge on you when such a disaster happened because of you?” From this day on, you and I will live separately. Now you will always be away from me. Never again will my brothers walk with you, and even those who are now on earth, I will order to hide when they see you or one of your star sisters in the sky.
- Okay, so be it! - Luna answered. “I’m leaving.” From now on I am a stranger to you. My sisters will also hide when they see you in heaven, and rejoice when you are gone.
That's why when daylight comes, the stars disappear and so does the Moon. If, nevertheless, the Moon sometimes appears together with the Sun, she tries to stay away from it.
The chickens listened to their brother and, when the stars lit up in the sky, they hid in the chicken coop. Roosters rarely crow in the evening because they are uncomfortable with the stars and the moon. But every morning they sing a song: “Tunga-zuki-o! Tunga-zuki-o!” So they joyfully warn everyone about the imminent arrival of their brother the Sun.
