Once upon a time a butcher had a very stupid son. That's what his neighbors called him - Stupid Juan. He was so stupid that you couldn’t trust him with anything - he would definitely mess up and do everything wrong. One day Juan pestered his father:
“Give me some meat, I’ll go trade.”
“I won’t give you meat,” said the father, “you’re so stupid that you won’t be able to sell it.”
But Stupid Juan did not lag behind, and finally the butcher, so that his son would get rid of him, gave him three pesos worth of pork.
Juan, very happy, left the house and walked through the streets. He wandered for a long time and finally noticed that a large horsefly was flying behind him, buzzing, as it seemed to him, very pitifully and not lagging behind a single step. Stupid Juan decided that the horsefly wanted to buy meat from him, and asked:
- Do you want to buy meat? “Zzzzz!” buzzed the horsefly. This was enough for stupid Juan - he left a third of the pork and said to the horsefly:
“I’ll come to you later for the money.”
He walked further and after a while he met a skinny pig. The pig dug the ground with its nose, and Stupid Juan said:
- I see you are hungry. Don't you need meat? The pig grunted, and Stupid Juan thought she was saying, “We must.” He threw half of the remaining meat to her and, like the horsefly before, he said to the pig:
“I’ll come by for the money later.”
Juan was tired from walking, he was hot, and very thirsty. And then on his way he saw a well and thought: “Now I’ll drink.” But he didn't have to drink. Stupid Juan looked into the well and saw a man there. Juan shouted:
- Don't you need meat?
The man in the well answered vaguely and repeated Juan's gestures. Stupid Juan decided that they wanted to buy meat from him. He threw the rest of the meat into the well and shouted:
- I’ll come for the money later!
“Well, now the easiest thing left is to collect the money,” Juan thought. He went into a grocery store and saw a large fly on the shopkeeper's hand. Stupid Juan mistook it for a horsefly, to whom he left a third of the meat, and demanded:
- Well, now pay!
The fly did not answer and flew onto the buyer's hand. Stupid Juan began to chase her. The fly flew from one customer to another, and the customers, fleeing from Juan's blows, began to jump out of the store without buying anything. In the end, the shopkeeper got tired of this, and in order to get rid of Stupid Juan, he paid him.
Stupid Juan went further and saw a pig in someone's garden. He spoke to her, demanding money, but she, like a fly before, did not want to answer him. He started chasing her around the garden. The pig's owner began to shout at Juan, but soon realized that Juan was stupid and also paid him to save his garden and the pig.
Now Juan just had to collect money from the third buyer. But the man in the well was only mimicking him. Stupid Juan lost his temper, took a long pole and began to beat the man in the well with it. He disappeared, and when Juan saw this, he screamed and began to call people for help. The owner of the well came running to the cry, and when Stupid Juan told him why he was screaming, he also gave him money to get rid of him. He, like everyone else, realized that Juan was a fool.
Humming merrily, Foolish Juan returned home and gave his father the money.
“You didn’t want me to trade, but look how much money I made,” he boasted. The father praised Juan and said:
“Since you’re such a great guy, you’ll now sell meat every day.”
