Stuck

There is a fish with the funny name “stuck”. It sticks to a stone at the bottom, or to some kind of fish, or to a snag and sees only what is in front of the snag. There is nothing else in the world for her.

Once a frog (and he can be both in water and on land) tried to share his impressions of the world with Sticky. What didn’t he say!

And about the fact that there is a sky, and about floating clouds. And about the sun, and about chirping birds, and about chirping grasshoppers, and about swift dragonflies.

Sticky listened incredulously and only grinned condescendingly.

But then the frog began to talk about something completely incredible:

“I jumped out,” he says, “one day I went to the shore and saw: a giant walking there in shorts and looking for something.” At first I didn’t understand what he was looking for. And then I see - he’s catching tadpoles and little frogs. Then he noticed me - and came to me! I ran into the water.

Oh, how scary it was! His legs are not like those of frogs - they are long. The eyes are small, but they see far. The paws are unwebbed and wriggle like snakes. Everything inside me is still trembling.

Sticky grinned:

- Well, you are a master of pouring! There is no sky, no sun, no giants. All these are your inventions, lies. How can you prove this to me?

- Yes, get out of the mud, emerge into the light. You won't see it yet!

“And I don’t want to look,” Prilipala answered importantly. - What am I, a dark old woman, to believe in miracles?

Isn’t our soul like this fish: whatever it cleaves to, it sees the world and enters into it. She clings to the mud, so for her there is no sky or light.
