A mother came to a large store and took her son to the toy department. Seeing a giant rocking horse, he climbed on it and rode for an hour.
“Well, get down, son,” the mother begged, “I have to go home to cook dinner for your father.”
But the baby refused to budge, and all her efforts were in vain. The toy department salesman also tried to persuade the baby, but had no success. Finally, in desperation, they called the store psychologist.
He slowly approached the boy and whispered a few words in his ear, and he immediately jumped off the horse and ran up to his mother.
- How did you do it? - asked the amazed mother. - What did you tell him?
After some hesitation, the psychologist answered:
“That's all I told him: 'If you don't jump off that rocking horse right now, son, I'm going to knock the brains out of you!'
People sooner or later learn that fear works, that authority works, that power works. And children are so helpless and so dependent on their parents that you can frighten them. And this becomes your technique to exploit and oppress them, and they have nowhere to escape from you.
