Once upon a time there lived a squirrel, a mitten and a needle. And they went into the forest. They look - there are three paths in front of them. Squirrel - she was the oldest - and says:
“We’ll go along different paths, and whoever finds the first find will call the others.”
The needle walked and walked and found a resinous stump and shouted:
- Oh, rather, the mitten, Together with the squirrel sister! I walked along the path and found a find!
A mitten and a squirrel ran up to the needle.
- This is the stump I found! - says the needle.
- Ho! What kind of find is this? The forest is full of such stumps! And out of frustration they beat the needle. And then they went their separate ways again. The needle walked and walked and saw a forest lamba. Again she shouts:
[Lamba is a small forest lake without sources.]
- Oh, rather, the mitten, Together with the squirrel sister! I walked along the path and found a find!
A mitten with a squirrel approaches her:
- Well, what else did you find? The needle answers:
— I found a forest lake.
The needle got hit here again. Mitten and the squirrel beat her painfully and said:
- I found a find - a lake!
And again everyone went in different directions.
The needle approaches the swamp and sees: deer are nibbling the grass.
The needle crept up to the largest deer and hid in a blade of grass that grew on a hummock in front of the deer. The deer swallowed it along with the grass and fell dead. Then a needle jumped out and shouted:
Oh, rather, the mitten, Together with the squirrel sister! I walked along the path and found a find!
And the mitten with the squirrel in response:
- No, that's enough! She just wants to lead us by the nose. That's right, I found a stump again.
The needle calls for the second time:
Oh, rather, the mitten, Together with the squirrel sister! I walked along the path and found a find!
And the mitten with the squirrel in response:
- You won’t deceive me! Apparently, I came across the lamb again. The needle calls for the third time:
Oh, rather, the mitten, Together with the squirrel sister! I walked along the path and found a find!
Then the mitten and the squirrel finally approach her.
- Well, what other find?
— I found a deer.
And the deer lies dead on a hummock.
Let's stroke the mitten with the squirrel on the head - it's a very good find. They cut up the deer and decided to cook the meat, but the problem is that they don’t have a pot. The needle says to the squirrel:
“Your claws are sharp, pick some birch bark, we’ll make a pot out of it and cook some meat.”
The squirrel brought birch bark.
The needle has pierced the birch bark - and the pot is ready.
“But we don’t have water, and there’s nowhere to get it,” say the mitten and the squirrel.
And the needle answers:
- Yes, I found a lamb! There's enough water there. The mitten ran down the water.
“And we don’t even have wood to start a fire.” Needle says:
- So I found a resinous stump! They began to cook.
The meat was cooked, they ate their fill, and took the leftovers home.
That’s right, and now they still eat it if the stock hasn’t run out.
