For centuries, Boland-Ashyan's tomb, located in the small town of Murgzan in Iran, healed illnesses in all who visited it. She was known as the "sponge of misfortune." - Why are pious pilgrims not transformed after visiting the place of so many miracles? And why do kitchen regulars become Sufi saints?
Khorram replied:
— A sponge absorbs unnecessary water, but gives nothing, no matter what merits you attribute to it. The cook knows the measure of ingredients and can make them digestible. A cook may need a sponge to clean up dirty water, for example. Only a fool who looks solely at a sponge would imagine that it acts of its own will.
