Whether it was true or fable, it so happened that a spider and a fever met and walked together around the world. They walked and walked, got tired and stopped to rest in a vineyard with a watchman.
“I won’t go further,” says the fever. “I’m tired, and it’s far from the city.” I'll stay with the watchman.
“I’ll rest a little and go to the city,” says the spider.
After some time the spider left. And the fever, as he was left alone, attacked the watchman and, well, shook him. The watchman grabbed a hoe and started digging until he broke out in sweat. His fever went away. The next day she attacked him again, and he again began to dig the ground until he broke into a sweat. This happened every day, and eventually the fever got enough and she ran away from the watchman.
And the spider came to the city and settled down in the master’s room. But as soon as he began to weave a web, a maid came with a broom and rags and ruined all his work. The next day the spider began to work on the web again, but the cursed maid came again and ruined all his needlework. This was repeated day after day.
The spider realized that he could not live here, and went to wander around the world. He meets his old friend - fever. They told each other about their misfortunes and decided to change places: the spider would go to the watchman’s hut, and the fever would go to the master in the city.
A fever came to the master and attacked him - he immediately began to tremble, quickly went to bed and sent for a doctor. He suffered a lot from the fever.
And the spider came to the watchman’s hut and quietly, peacefully decorated it with cobwebs. The watchman did not disturb him at all, and the spider began to live in peace.
