One day a fly, a butterfly and a mosquito went hunting together. In the forest they came across an Anansi spider.
- We'll eat you! - they said and grabbed the spider.
A fight ensued. But Anansi was stronger than he seemed, and the three of them could not defeat him.
They fought and fought, and finally decided to rest. And then Anansi asked:
- Why did you attack me?
“We are hungry,” answered the fly, butterfly and mosquito. “You know that everyone needs to eat.”
- I’m hungry too. Why can't I eat you?
“You are not strong enough to defeat us,” they said.
“But you are not strong enough to cope with me,” Anansi objected. “Let’s make a deal.” Let each of you come up with a story. And if I don't believe you, please eat me. Then I will also tell you something, but if you say that I lied, then I will eat you.
