Sparrow and chicken

Sparrow and chicken

One day a sparrow and a chicken were talking. A sparrow was sitting on a stone fence, and a chicken was walking around below.

- Listen, aren’t you tired of walking around and pecking? - asked the sparrow. - After all, you forgot how to fly.

- It's not true! - the chicken was offended.

She flapped her wings with all her might and perched herself on the fence.

- But tell me: aren’t you tired of flying and jumping all the time? Live in a chicken coop. The hostess will pour grain into your feeder - take a bite, without knowing any worries.

Then a strong wind blew. The chicken, no matter how hard it held onto the fence, still flew down. And the sparrow spread its wings, flew around, and sat down on the fence again.

“Now you see,” he said, “you are big and strong, but you only hope for a feeding trough in life.” So in flight you wanted to lean on a stone wall, but I rely only on my wings and in life I am my own support.
