Sometimes it’s not a sin to listen to women!

In ancient times, one mullah wandered from village to village, collecting zakat (Muslim tax). In one of the villages he stopped to stay in one of the houses. All the villagers gathered in this house to listen to the sermons of the confessor.

“One of the most serious sins,” the mullah said, “is to listen to the advice of women and do as they say.” Those of you who, having left this world, successfully pass all the tests and appear before Allah himself, will witness a truly fabulous spectacle. The Almighty will demonstrate to you all His power and splendor. And those of you who listened to your wives during your lifetime will not be able to see all this.

A horseman named Syrgabai, who was listening to this story, suddenly said:

- What a thing! But it turns out I almost committed a grave sin...

-What are you talking about? – the mullah asked, glancing at him briefly.

“Well, I tell my wife: we’ll give the mullah who arrived a sheep,” says the horseman, “And she says no, give me the horse.” So I think that it turns out that I almost committed a sinful act.

- Why sinful? – the mullah quickly turned to the horseman – women are also God’s creations. Sometimes listening to them is not a sin at all.
